The Hardiman Hotel, a landmark four-star hotel located in the heart of Galway city, is seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to join our management team. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for maintaining the hotel's historic fabric, modern facilities, and guest areas to the highest operational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and motivate the maintenance team on a daily basis
* Plan and oversee preventive and reactive maintenance across the hotel
* Ensure all plant, equipment, bedrooms, and public areas are maintained efficiently
* Coordinate external contractors and manage service schedules
* Ensure compliance with all health & safety, fire safety, and statutory regulations
* Work closely with hotel management and department heads to support seamless operations
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience in maintenance management or a senior maintenance role
* Strong technical knowledge with hands-on problem-solving ability
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Hospitality industry experience is highly desirable
* Relevant trade qualifications or certifications are an advantage
