Job Title: Senior Resident Engineer


Job Description

As a senior resident engineer, you will lead the site-based team responsible for supervising the construction of major infrastructure projects.

The project involves constructing approximately 1.45 km of single carriageway connecting two regional roads in a north-south direction.

The aim of the project is to alleviate traffic within a specific town.

The works will primarily involve:

* provision of two signalised junction tie-ins south of a proposed bridge footway and cycleway
* construction of a prestressed precast concrete beam bridge spanning a railway line and a canal
* construction of high containment walls on approaches and departure from the bridge
* construction of stonework-clad noise barrier walls to the south of the scheme
* reinforced-concrete towpath along the banks of a canal underneath a proposed bridge

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in engineering or construction management (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent).

You must also have at least 10 years' postgraduate experience in civil engineering works, preferably with experience in piling and bridgeworks.

In addition, you will need to have experience in administering public works forms of contract, as well as knowledge and awareness of health and safety legislation.


Required Skills and Qualifications

* degree in engineering or construction management
* at least 10 years' postgraduate experience in civil engineering works
* experience in administering public works forms of contract
* knowledge and awareness of health and safety legislation
* good organisational skills
* excellent written and oral communication skills
* fluency/high level of proficiency in spoken and written English
