Red Chair Recruitment are presently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients R&D / Product Development team in North Kerry. specialising in hydraulic systems and machinery building, you will help design, develop, and optimise agricultural-equipment solutions that meet performance, durability, safety, and manufacturability standards. This is a full time position based in County KerryKey Responsibilities:Develop mechanical design of hydraulic subsystems for various types of machinery.Produce detailed design drawings, 3D CAD models, assemblies & parts (e.g. hydraulic cylinders, pumps, control valves, linkages)Select materials, components and suppliers appropriate for heavy, outdoor, wet, and high-load environmentsPerform hydraulic calculations: flow, pressure drop, force, fatigue, sealing & leak-considerationsPrototype, test and iterate designs; carry out failure mode analysis & ensure compliance with safety & regulatory standardsCollaborate with manufacturing, production & quality teams to ensure designs are buildable, robust, cost-effectiveDocument design decisions, maintain BOMs, and oversee revisions and version controlSkills & Experience Required:Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.Knowledge of Mechanical and hydraulic standards, fluid power, seals, hoses, and actuator design.Experience in sheet metal, weldments, machine frames and machinery components is highly desired.Salary is open to negotiation and based on experience along with extended holidays, pensions contributions and sick pay schemes.
