We are seeking a candidate with high potential to lead a Prompt Trading team. This is a unique opportunity to join a trading leadership team and help shape trading strategy, particularly as the offshore wind portfolio continues to expand. The Prompt Manager will operate as part of the wider trading management team in delivering against business plan targets and contribute to the development of an informed and empowered workforce through effective communications, teamwork, accountability, and key performance measures. The Prompt Manager will be customer-centric, leading engagement with a range of internal and external stakeholders to grow and enhance the business while focusing on developing trading strategies in line with the organisations strategic objectives. The successful candidate will lead and manage the Prompt Trading team and will have responsibility for contributing to the successful delivery of the financial targets of the trading business. They will be a team player and self-starter with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage, develop, and motivate team members. They will also have a demonstrable ability to communicate and relate effectively with staff at all levels. The candidate will drive and facilitate innovation within the team, identifying market opportunities, ensuring a consistent commercial approach is adopted, and all commercial initiatives are aligned with the trading strategy. Key Responsibilities Ensure the trading team acts proactively in power and gas markets to optimise trading positions in the prompt electricity markets. Maintain and develop prompt trading systems and processes to ensure that all prompt traded positions are optimised and that regulatory risk is managed in a robust manner. Manage the integration and delivery of contracted trading services for offshore wind projects currently under construction. Manage regulatory compliance and incident reporting across the trading team. Engage positively with counterparties, both internal and external, to foster collaborative relationships. Proactively support and develop the capabilities of the team. Work with the wider trading team to ensure potential new investment opportunities are properly assessed from a prompt trading perspective. Lead, support, and champion the values and cultural attributes of the organisation through open communication, team-working, and innovation. Knowledge, Skills and Experience 5+ years relevant experience. Extensive experience/knowledge of electricity and gas markets and associated commodity markets. Good understanding of operational risk management in a trading environment. Proven commercial acumen. Strong stakeholder management skills at peer and senior levels, with the ability to deliver change. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of work/projects and motivating team members. Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive collaborative relationships across teams and business units. Qualifications 3rd level qualification in Business, Science, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
