Automation Engineer
Douglas Control & Automation is currently recruiting an Automation Engineer on behalf of a leading regulated manufacturing company for a secondment into their site.
This is an excellent opportunity for an automation professional to join a high-performing engineering team supporting manufacturing systems, automation projects, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of automation projects across manufacturing operations
Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation and control systems
Support equipment assessments, upgrades, and reliability improvements
Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and resource coordination
Assist with regulatory compliance activities and quality system requirements
Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved
Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities where required
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing systems
Requirements
Degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience supporting automation projects within a manufacturing environment
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Working knowledge of quality systems within a regulated environment (FDA, ISO, GMP, Medical Device, or Pharmaceutical)
Desirable Experience
PLC programming
Manufacturing systems experience
Commissioning and validation activitiesProcess engineering exposure
Automation and control systems troubleshooting
