Due to continued growth and expansion, the company is now seeking to recruit a Project Engineer (Civil/Structural).
Position Title: This is a full-time hybrid role for a Project Engineer (Civil/Structural) at Astatine Ltd. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for daily tasks such as engineering, design, computer-aided design (CAD) and project management. While the role is primarily located in Dublin 8, there is flexibility for some remote work.
The successful candidate will make significant contributions to the design of complex high temperature heat pump systems and solar farms, and integrate them to the client’s process. This will need acute attention to detail, strong theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Supported by a team, you will need leadership skills to develop less experienced engineers and use resources effectively.

* Location: Hybrid working model – Work from Astatine’s offices located in Guinness Enterprise Centre, Dublin 8 when required, otherwise work remotely/from home.

* Working Hours: Full time – Monday to Friday
* Responsibilities:
o Foundation design for modular structures
o Geotechnical evaluation of sites and ground conditions
o Trenching and ducting detailed design
o Designing structural support and foundations
o Light road and access track design
o Overseeing the setting out for solar farms and other structures
o Managing civil contractors, occasional site attendance
o Structural evaluation of existing buildings to determine capacity for small additional loads
o Using your vast experience systems to come up with added value for our clients
o Attending customer meetings
o Attending project construction and design meetings and taking an active role
o Overseeing detailed design by less experienced engineers and external consultants
o Supervising and leading the selection of key equipment and validating supplier selections.
o Coming up with novel, effective engineering solutions for our customers
o Detailed design work
o Sharing your knowledge with less experienced engineers
o Take a technical leadership role in the design team
o Create detailed plans, drawings, and specifications, adhering to local building codes and industry standards.
o Assist in project management by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring designs meet client expectations.
o Review and approve civil and structural designs to ensure performance, accuracy, functionality, and safety
* Strong Civil and Structural Engineering skills with about 8 years of experience
* Bachelors (Level 8) Degree in Civil, Structural Engineering or related discipline
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferable, but not mandatory
* Superb quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills incorporating strong analytical skills
* Strong Experience in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel and AutoCAD/BIM applications.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills.
* Proven self-starter and self-motivated
* Ability to work as part of a team and to manage workload and prioritise.
* Valid Full Driving License (preferable, not mandatory)
