R&D Chemist
Our client is a leading disinfection solutions company who supply their products globally & have their HQ in Wexford for manufacturing & R&D. They are seeking an R&D Chemist who will report to the R&D Healthcare Director. The ideal candidate will be a recent PhD chemistry graduate.
Role/ Responsibilities:
* Drive ideation, selection and prioritisation of new product development programmes based on market and commercial needs.
* Project management of R&D & technical query projects including experimental design, planning and execution
* Provide technical support to Sales, Marketing & Customer Services.
* Contribution of new ideas for research, development and analysis of new and existing products.
* Actively pursue collaborations in academia and other relevant industry and professional networks.
* Attend & present at exhibitions and conferences
* To liaise with internal departments to provide support and advice for product developments and validation. This would include for example:
* advice on monitoring laboratory or field studies o feedback on the stage of progress of current projects
* competitor product evaluations
* technical assessment of new sources of raw materials
* To search for and collate testing data from academic literature and other sources.
* To revise and maintain data within technical reports.
* To carry out experiments and trials within R&D and in field when needed.
* To maintain, develop and improve R&D administrative systems.
* To cooperate with auditors internal and external and to respond to any resulting audit reports.
* To conform to Company and other regulatory requirements with respect to cGMP, health & safety, etc.
* Develop a precise understanding of the competitive set micro-biological efficacy comparison and advise best actions.
* Engage proactively with the wider Healthcare team along with the wider group on R&D and technical topics
* Review & approval of product artwork
* Assist with R&D tax credit applications
* Carry out of responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and local laws
Qualifications/Experience:
* Ph.D. or master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related scientific discipline
* 3 + years' work experience within food, pharmaceutical or chemical industries for master's qualification
