We are seeking experienced and motivated Consultant Psychiatrists in Old Age Psychiatry to work across a range of public and private mental health services throughout Ireland.
Role Overview
The post involves providing specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for older adults with functional and organic mental health disorders. Consultants will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to service development, clinical governance, teaching, and supervision of junior doctors and allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high quality, patient centred care in Old Age Psychiatry
Provide leadership within multidisciplinary teams
Participate in service planning, audit, and quality improvement
Supervise and support NCHDs and trainees
Engage with families, carers, and community services
Requirements
Specialist registration (or eligibility) in Old Age Psychiatry
Experience working with older adult mental health services
Strong communication and leadership skills
Eligibility to work in Ireland
What’s on Offer
Specific purpose contracts (12 months)
Salary of €233,527 to €280,513 per year based on experience
30 days of annual leave, 10 days of public holidays and up to 10 days of medical education leave
