Atlas is the globally distributed, multi-cloud database used by customers to build and run applications anywhere.Role based remotely in Ireland.ResponsibilitiesDefine standards and vision for the mission-critical observability platform leveraged by all parts of the engineering organizationDesign, architect, build and deliver core pieces of our observability services in collaboration with other stakeholdersDesign, implement, and troubleshoot the monitoring of services that span the globe across several cloud providersBuild for reliability, ensuring services and infrastructure are available, resilient, fault-tolerant, and self-healingIdentify and configure key metrics to detect incidents and quantify service health, availability and performanceParticipate in a week-long on-call rotation and blameless post-mortem processImprove observability capabilities, optimizing for cost, ease of use, and maintainabilityRequirementsExperience running mission critical services at scaleExperience with observability of large-scale distributed systemsUnderstanding of information security issuesFirm grasp of at least one modern programming language, beyond basic scriptingSolid understanding of web and network protocols and standards (HTTP, TLS, DNS, etc)Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceNice to havesExperience with at least one major cloud provider (Amazon Web Services, Google Compute, Microsoft Azure)Experience working in a Kubernetes-based environmentWhat’s in it for youGenerous compensation packageOpportunities to learn on the job (time to upskill in new technologies)High level of independence in your day-to-day workMongoDB is committed to providing accommodations for individuals with disabilities in its application and interview process.
