This person will be responsible for devising the group’s IS / IT strategy, ensuring all infrastructure and systems support operations, and managing IT teams across Ireland and the UK. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in leading IT teams and delivering top-tier IS / IT services. This is a site-based role with frequent travel to other facilities in Ireland and the UK.Key responsibilities include:Set objectives and strategies for the IS/IT department.Select and implement suitable technologies to improve business operations, using public cloud, private cloud, or on-premises solutions as appropriate.Ensure the security of the entire information stack, including hosting, network, servers, storage, backup, end-user devices, and applications.Select and manage appropriate IT suppliers and partners.Develop, review, and certify all backup and disaster recovery procedures and plans.Oversee the IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.Plan the implementation of new solutions, providing guidance to the IT team, managed service partners, and staff.Prepare the annual budget for the IT department, including procurement of IT equipment and software.Monitor technological advancements to identify competitive advantages.Analyze costs, value, and risks of IT to advise the board on actions.Candidate ProfileProven experience as a Head of IS or similar managerial role.Excellent knowledge of IS / IT systems and infrastructure.Experience in strategic planning and execution.Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.Knowledge of IT hardware, software, and cloud solutions, with the ability to manage all IT operations.Experience implementing IT integrations in large divisions or companies.Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning implementations.Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strategic and business mindset.Excellent organizational and leadership skills.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.BSc/BA in IT, computer science, engineering, or a related field; MSc/MA preferred.
