OverviewSenior Structural Engineer - Techrete UK & Ireland. This position is based at our Balbriggan facility and offers an opportunity to contribute to the design and development of our architectural precast facade solutions.About The RoleWith our commitment to contribute to a carbon neutral environment, we strive to manufacture energy efficient façade designs. To complement our current in-house design capabilities, we are looking to add a Senior Structural Engineer to assist in the design and future development of our facade elements.ResponsibilitiesThe management and co-ordination of deliverables and resources on projects.Preparing conceptual, schematic, and detailed design solutions for precast facade design.Liaising and co-ordinating with external design team members.Liaising with clients and their representatives (e.g. architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.Attending design team meetings as required.Contribute to internal process improvement and development.Responsible for coaching and managing the career development of team members, targeted to improve both their behavioural and functional competencies.Monitor team progress with regular reviews and performance feedback.What we are looking forChartered Structural Engineer with 10 years'+ post-graduate experience preferably in the areas of facades or precast design.Should be capable as acting as design lead on projects and working collaboratively with in-house project managers, production and site teams in addition to our external clients.Good communication and team building skills are required.Must have an ability to work to defined deadlines and manage competing priorities.Must have strong structural engineering design skills with an emphasis on problem solving and designing from first principles.A working knowledge of construction & constructability practices & principles as they relate to facades.Leadership skills and experience managing a design team essential.Excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication skills.Knowledge of current BIM operating systems and standards along with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Project and BIM toolsTrack record working with clients.Experience in precast concrete industry an advantage.Working knowledge of Tekla Structural Designer is an advantage.Self-Motivated with ability to work on own initiativeEducation: Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering.BenefitsSubsidised on-site canteenCompany pensionCycle to work schemeEnhanced maternity leaveEnhanced paternity leaveOn-site parkingEarly leave on FridayEqual OpportunitiesTechrete is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse working environment.
