Job DescriptionJob Title:Payroll SpecialistDepartment:Human ResourcesReports to:Payroll Manager___________________________________________________________________________Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland's dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers.Ornua has revenues of €3.4 billion and is supported by a global team of approximately 2,800 employees. The Group operates as a commercial organisation across 10 business units, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua's consumer brands including Ireland's most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America.It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.Key Areas of Responsibility:Timely preparation and accurate processing of bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for active employees and pensioners across multiple locationsProcess payroll related bank payments in a timely manner to ensure all employees are paid on timeProcess third party payments from payroll adhering to deadlinesGenerate nominal ledgers and provide Finance with all required bi-weekly, monthly and annual reportsPrepare and submit required tax and statutory filings and returns by due datesCompletion of CSO quarterly returns and National Employment Survey returnsLiaise with Revenue/HMRC and Department of Social ProtectionEnsure accurate and confidential payroll files are maintainedRespond to auditor queries and participate in audits, both internal and external auditorsLiaise with payroll software providers to implement update s and changes to payroll system.Pension plan administration including monthly administration, calculation and remittance of contributions, processing of leavers and joiners, annual renewals and statutory reportingOther benefit plan administration, including sickness, long term illness, life death in service, maternity/paternity leave, travel passes, Bike to Work scheme and other benefit plansRespond to queries from staff in relation to payroll and benefits through a ticketing systemRespond to external parties on payroll related matters as requiredInvoicing and budget tracking for HR departmentSupport other HR Projects/Events, including global HR initiativesKey requirements & competencies2+ years' experience in Ireland and/or UK payroll processing and administrationExperience with CoreHR payroll preferableExperience processing operative timesheetsSAP Success Factors' experience is desirableIPASS qualifiedStrong knowledge of Irish Revenue requirements and Irish employment legislation, knowledge of UK payroll desirableAttention to detailStrong Microsoft office skills, in particular Microsoft ExcelFORWARD LOOKING: Helps others to accept change, implements change, and looks ahead to anticipate changeOWNERSHIP: Clarifies accountabilities, overlaps, and gaps, and helps others remain motivated through difficult timesCOMMINCATIVE: Communicates confidently, adapting style for different situationsWORKING TOGETHER: Encourages co-operation in own team and supports cross-functional working.Closing Date: Friday 5th December
