Description
We are currently seeking a Data Center Operations Electrical/Mechanical/Control Technician to join our Engineering Operations Team.
The successful candidate will oversee the operation and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure for Data Centers (DC) in AWS Cloud regions. Our technicians operate and maintain AWS DCs’ world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure. Responsibilities include technical operations, maintenance, facility oversight, and safety procedures implementation.
The role requires a motivated, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative, proactively seeks solutions, and strives for operational excellence. The candidate should be process-oriented, eager to learn new processes, and adaptable to rapidly changing operational scenarios with conflicting priorities.
The successful candidate will be part of the Engineering and Facilities team, responsible for maintaining customer availability, ensuring the operation of technical infrastructure, and the upkeep of the DC facility.
Key job responsibilities
1. Assist in the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility.
2. Develop work plans for emergency repairs of critical assets.
3. Troubleshoot all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems.
4. Operate under minimal supervision.
5. Create and close Work Orders with relevant data, including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used, into the asset management system.
6. Maintain changes in the state of Mission Critical infrastructure supporting corrective/preventive maintenance.
7. Test quality, performance, safety, and reliability of products, equipment, and processes.
8. Act as a frontline responder for hands-on troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment, including AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.

Basic Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Professional Electrical or Mechanical Certification (e.g., NCC, REC, or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience troubleshooting and maintaining building systems such as HVAC, BMS, AHUs, UPS, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, VFDs, and automation systems.
* Experience in facilities maintenance or building engineering roles is highly desirable.
