Job Title: Staff grade Occupational Therapist (Primary Care Adult)
Location: Ballinahown, Connemara
Contract: 6-9 month agency contract, fulltime, 35 hours per week

Excel Recruitment are recruiting an experienced Staff grade Occupational Therapist on behalf of a Primary Care Team in south Connemara
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a Senior Occupational Therapist, in a community setting, providing essential services to adults requiring intervention to enhance their functional abilities and quality of life.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy interventions to adults within the Primary Care setting.
2. Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans to promote functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
3. Provide intervention in areas such as self-care, mobility, housing adaptations, equipment prescription, and falls prevention.
4. Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Public Health Nurses, and GPs.
5. Supervise and support junior staff, students, and Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring high standards of practice.
6. Participate in the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives within the Primary Care team.
Requirements:
7. Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
8. Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with at least one year in a relevant area such as Primary Care, Community, or Rehabilitation.
9. Strong experience in assessment and intervention planning within a community or primary care setting.
10. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues and service users.
11. Experience in mentoring and supervising junior staff or students is desirable.
12. A full driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential.
