The Opportunity
We're hiring a
Department Lead – Engineering
to own end to end delivery across our Engineering vertical and build a high performing team. You'll inherit a warm desk with established accounts (including multi-national clients) and scale revenues and capability through disciplined delivery, client growth and people leadership. This role will lead to 'Head of Engineering' position based on successful revenue attainment from existing accounts/ new business.
Delivery & Client Outcomes
* Own full cycle delivery for engineering mandates across the EU (contingent, contract and permanent).
* Translate complex technical requirements into precise sourcing strategies; ensure shortlists meet compliance and standards expectations.
Team Leadership
* Build and lead a small team of direct reports (consultants & sourcers), setting clear goals and coaching for performance and growth.
* Establish repeatable operating rhythms such as pipeline reviews, weekly huddles and quality gates.
Practice Development & Growth
* Grow share of wallet on inherited accounts; identify expansion opportunities across sites, functions and geographies.
* Develop playbooks for priority role families such as Mechanical/Electrical, Automation, Commissioning, Utilities, Rail, Pharma/MedTech and Data Centres.
* Partner with business development to qualify new multi-national programs and framework agreements.
Process, Quality & Compliance
* Embed rigorous screening, credential verification and reference checks; align with internal HR policies.
* Maintain accurate, auditable records in ATS/CRM; drive data quality for forecasting and reporting.
Stakeholder Management
* Act as senior point of contact for client hiring managers and program leads; run weekly delivery stand ups, hiring plan reviews and post placement feedback loops.
* Collaborate with internal functions to ensure compliant contracting and smooth onboarding.
Candidate Profile
* 5–8+ years in technical recruiting/talent delivery, ideally with experience leading teams.
* Proven delivery across EU markets in one or more of: CSA, Mechanical/Electrical, Automation/Controls, Commissioning, QA/QC, Utilities & Infrastructure, Rail, Pharma/MedTech, Data Centres.
* Comfortable operating within complex, multi-site, multi- country programs.
Skills & Knowledge
* Fluency in engineering hiring vernacular and standards.
* Strong pipeline architecture, sourcing innovation and market mapping.
* Commercial acumen (margin, pricing, bid/no bid, contracting).
* People leadership: coaching, performance management, capability building.
* Excellent stakeholder communication; structured reporting and presentation.

Working Pattern & Travel
* Hybrid: 2–3 days per week in our Dublin 8 office; the balance remote.
* EU travel to client sites/program meetings as required.
