Job Title: Financial Accountant - Dún Laoghaire Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Dún Laoghaire. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in the accounting function and reporting directly to them.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They will also have experience in managing and supervising teams, as well as preparing monthly financial reports and analysis for both internal and external sources.
In this role, you will assist in the day-to-day running of the accounting function, including managing patient accounts, preparing monthly financial information, and liaising with auditors during the audit process. You will also support the Pensions Department in performing their duties, particularly in relation to statutory reporting to the relevant authorities.
You will be working closely with Internal Audit to prepare their annual audit plan and reviewing internal controls and procedures to make recommendations as necessary. Additionally, you will work with ICT on the development and implementation of finance systems upgrades and replacements.
To be successful in this role, you will need a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ACA) and at least 3 years' relevant experience in a similar position. You will also need excellent ICT skills, including MS Excel proficiency, and proven organisational and administrative skills.
