Our Public Sector client is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join their Capital & Estates Department in Dublin on a major healthcare infrastructure project.This is an initial 2-year contract role which offers great scope for extension and future permanency.Benefits35 hour working week.30 days of annual leaveHybrid workMileageResponsibilitiesManaging the necessary and appropriate consultation processes, meetings andother activities necessary to satisfactory completion of the project.Acting as senior administrative officer for the management Of the project andhelping to resolve quickly such issues as may be for resolution and agreement.Liaison with equipping team to ensure programme and installationrequirements are in alignment.Developing proposals with selected design teams and contractors.Obtaining approval to proposals as necessary in accordance with protocols andregulations in a timely manner.Ensuring that the brief is known and understood, in appropriate detail, by allthose who are likely to work in the new facility.Developing action plans for the timely and efficient completion Of contracts.Having close liaison with the design team, site supervisory staff, etc. on the onehand and hospital personnel on the other.Supervising staff and contractors in the implementation of agreed programmes.Working with service management to ensure that the equipping/commissioning/handover teams are established in good time, adequately briefed and trained, and effectively supported in carrying out itswork.Liaison and coordination with site inspectorate team.Managing and controlling agreed project timescales and budgets for construction and equipping and budgets to agreed quality standards.Anticipating risks and issues, especially those arising from phasing, variations, commissioning and vacating, and ensuring that where necessary these areeither resolved directly or brought to the notice of the Programme Board, for decisions on avoidable claims for delays, extras etc.RequirementsHold a Level 8 (or higher) QQI major academic award in Architecture, Engineering or Surveying accredited by the relevant Professional Institute.
or Have Appropriate Membership of the relevant professional association:o Society Of Chartered Surveyors in Irelando Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyorso Engineers Irelando Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.Have had at least 7 years' satisfactory & relevant experience in planning, design,project management or construction of buildings or in the installation or maintenance Of the mechanical, electrical, & heating services of such buildings.
A high level of knowledge & experience of the construction of buildings & building services & an understanding of the maintenance requirements.Knowledge and understanding of the healthcare environment, particularly of residential buildings, hospitals and other health facilities.Knowledge of relevant internationally accepted standards in relation to the design and maintenance of health care buildings.Knowledge of option appraisal procedures, brief writing & building user consultation, cost estimation & control, hospital design, healthcare & project management & of the procurement process appropriate to public sector capital projects.SONCATBc Tags: Contract RolePublic Sector / Semi-State
