Role, Key Responsibilities Accountabilities and Duties
We are seeking an innovative and hands-on Encapsulation & Formulation Scientist to join our R&D team focused on bioactive stabilization and delivery technologies.
The successful candidate will develop and optimize encapsulation systems that protect bioactive functionality across processing, storage, and digestion—leveraging expertise in material science, formulation design, process engineering, and data-driven optimization.
You will work closely with microbiologists and product developers to translate research concepts into robust, scalable formulations ready for commercial application in food, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical products.
· Design and develop encapsulation systems for bioactives using biopolymers, proteins, lipids, or composite matrices.
· Plan and conduct lab- and pilot-scale trials using encapsulation methods
· Optimize process parameters (e.g., inlet/outlet temperature, feed rate, polymer ratios)
· Formulate prototypes and evaluate encapsulation efficiency, and controlled release under simulated environmental and gastrointestinal conditions.
· Apply data science and modelling approaches to interpret process data and predict optimal conditions.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth technology transfer from lab to pilot or production scale.
· Prepare technical reports, patent disclosures, and R&D documentation in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
· Stay current with emerging technologies, encapsulation materials, and formulation tools to support innovation initiatives.

Education & Experience:
· BSc or Master's degree in Food Process Engineering, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
· Specialization or research experience in microencapsulation, biopolymer materials, or controlled release systems is strongly preferred.
· Proven experience with food/pharmaceutical technologies (spray drying, extrusion, coacervation, or nanoencapsulation).
· Knowledge of food materials (e.g., protein matrices, lipids, or polymers).
· Experience with formulation design and stability studies for bioactive ingredients or probiotics.
· Competence in process optimization tools
· Familiarity with data analytics and modeling for formulation optimization is a plus.
· Experience with scale-up and industrial processing environments is desirable.
