Post locations are either Sandymount or Leopardstown.LeopardstownOur Leopardstown office is located within a HSE building in Leopardstown Shopping Centre, offering excellent connectivity and convenience. It sits on the Luas Green Line, minutes from the M50, and offers amenities such as Dunnes Stores, Vanilla Pod, Costa, parking, a pharmacy and dry‑cleaning services.SandymountOur Sandymount office is in a vibrant seaside village, close to Sandymount Strand. It benefits from nearby cafes, restaurants, Tesco and is served by DART and central bus routes.Contract TypePermanent, specified purpose posts.Contract HoursFull and part‑time hours available.Salary Scale€97,978 – €115,166 pro rata per annum, subject to Long Service Increments.Pay Scale UpdatePay increases are expected in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement for Section 39 organisations.Annual Leave Entitlement34 days per annum, proportionate for less than 12 months’ service.Overview of the PostAs a senior member of the interdisciplinary team, the Senior Psychologist will provide psychological services to a caseload of children and families, including assessment, diagnostics, intervention, clinical and performance supervision, and ongoing support for children aged 0–18 with physical, sensory, and/or learning disabilities or developmental delay.Overview of Duties & ResponsibilitiesPlease see the full list in the Job Description.The successful candidate will haveEssential CriteriaRecognised university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) with 1st or 2nd class honours in Psychology and honours in that subject, meeting the Psychological Society of Ireland requirements for a Clinical Psychologist.Irish post‑graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology.Or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.Demonstrated competence in the Care Group(s) applied for.Membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).At least five years’ satisfactory post‑graduate experience in professional psychology, with no more than three years spent completing the post‑graduate qualification and at least two years of full‑time post‑qualification experience as a psychologist.For clinical or counselling psychologists: at least 60 days (or equivalent) supervised clinical placements or post‑qualification work experience in Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology, or Adult Psychology.For educational psychologists: at least 60 days (or equivalent) supervised placements or post‑qualification work experience in Child Disability or Child Psychology.Eligibility to work in the State.Note: combinations of supervised clinical placement and post‑qualification experience within a single care group area to give a total of 60 days are not acceptable.Desirable CriteriaPrevious experience in a senior post.Experience facilitating parent groups.Experience in inter‑ or trans‑disciplinary team working.Experience with children aged birth to 18 years, with a range of disabilities including physical disability, autism, learning disability and their families.Specific experience in assessment and intervention with children with physical disabilities and/or specific learning difficulties.Qualification and experience in completing ASD diagnostic assessments.Experience and training in formal supervision processes.BenefitsExcellent internal and external training opportunitiesGenerous annual leave entitlementsFlexible workingLong service reward schemePay‑adjusted maternity leavePay‑adjusted adoptive leavePay‑adjusted paternity leaveWellbeing benefitsPensionFor a full list of our benefits and conditions, please click here.What now?To apply, download the Job Description and Person Specification for your information and complete the online application form.
