Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain & Procurement (ISCaP) works to deliver innovative solutions to source, build, and maintain socially responsible data center supply chains. The Senior Category Manager leads sourcing strategies for complex services categories, collaborates with business partners and suppliers, and drives cost reductions through competitive bidding, negotiations, and data‑driven market analysis.
Responsibilities
Manage a complex category within the Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) domains.
Achieve cost savings through bidding and negotiations.
Analyze category data and metrics to drive procurement category strategies.
Understand trends in customer needs and concerns across categories and regions.
Lead supplier selection processes across multiple categories, internal teams, and regions, and create long‑term supplier selection strategies.
Develop mechanisms and metrics to track supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and cost; create supplier scorecards.
Lead business reviews to improve supplier performance and strengthen partnerships.
Innovate within procurement by automating and improving tools or processes.
Provide support throughout contracting and post‑execution contract management.
Engage regional leaders and stakeholders to ensure data center operations have necessary services.
Communicate preferred suppliers to stakeholders and handle category‑specific questions, strategies, and innovations.
Manage supplier performance and contract negotiations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
Experience in data analysis using Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent.
Experience in high‑volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments.
Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross‑functional teams.
Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain, and Tier I OEM partners.
Proven track record of managing multiple projects and driving them to completion.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with customer focus.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with Amazon’s Leadership Principles and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred: Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies.
Preferred: Experience in negotiations with global suppliers and cost reduction track record.
Preferred: Experience with procurement processes such as category management, benchmarking, should‑cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting.
