GEDON Executive is seeking a highly skilled and experiencedSenior Mechanical Estimatorto join a leadingM&E ContractorinDublin, Ireland. This is a high-value, critical role for an estimator with a proven track record of pricing large-scale, complex mechanical projects across demanding sectors such asData Centres, Pharmaceutical, and Commercial builds.As the Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for the full, detailed preparation of competitive and accurate cost estimates for the mechanical packages. You will operate as the technical and commercial expert, ensuring all tenders are robust, compliant, and strategically aligned to secure profitable work.Key ResponsibilitiesFirst Principles Estimating: Prepare detailed, bottom-up cost estimates for all mechanical services (HVAC, piping, utilities, public health, BMS controls interface, etc.), utilising first principles to build up accurate costs.Tender Management: Lead the estimating process for major mechanical tenders, managing timelines and ensuring all components of the submission are compiled accurately and efficiently.Supply Chain Engagement: Proactively engage with the supply chain, issuing detailed enquiries, evaluating quotations, and leading critical tender negotiations with mechanical subcontractors and specialist suppliers.Design & Value Engineering: Collaborate closely with the Design and Engineering teams to challenge and optimise the technical solution, ensuring the estimate reflects the most cost-effective and buildable approach.Risk & Opportunity: Systematically identify, quantify, and manage all commercial and technical risks, while highlighting and pricing opportunities for value enhancement.Review & Adjudication: Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns and attend senior management tender adjudication meetings, confidently presenting the commercial position and strategy.What You'll BringProven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Senior Estimator, with a strong background in Mechanical or M&E contracting in Ireland or the UK.Sector Expertise: Direct experience estimating for highly technical sectors such as Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, or large-scale Commercial projects is essential.Technical & Commercial Acumen: Deep technical understanding of mechanical systems and installations, coupled with exceptional commercial awareness and analytical skills.Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in estimating software packages and advanced use of Microsoft Excel for complex pricing models.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of preparing clear, professional reports and leading difficult supply chain negotiations.Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is highly desirable.What Our Client OffersA competitive salary of €100,000 - €130,000, commensurate with your specialist experience.The opportunity to price and secure the most significant and technically advanced mechanical projects in the thriving Irish construction market.A senior, integral role within a market-leading M&E contractor with a guaranteed, strong pipeline of work.A professional, high-performance environment with excellent opportunities for strategic career growth.The GEDON AdvantageGEDON Executive is a global search firm specialising in the preconstruction & project controls sector, with a strong network of leading M&E contractors in Dublin and across Europe.
