AtkinsRéalis one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland.We are seeking an ambitious Hydrologist/Water Resource Manager to join our offices in Ireland.ResponsibilitiesHydrological analysis encompasses flow estimation through statistical techniques, regionalised methods, and rainfall-runoff modelling, as well as low flow analysisExperience of working for a private sector consultancy is a requirement, as is experience of undertaking business development, client engagement, proposal and tender writing and winning and delivering won workInterpretation of hydrological data and water resources informationConducting hydrometric fieldwork, catchment walkovers, and reviewing third-party dataReporting and communication of hydrological and water resources issues, outcomes and recommendationsProgramming in packages such as R and PythonDeveloping tools, methods and processes to automate and standardize hydrological analysisWater resource modelling using appropriate water resource packages (e.g. using Pywr or Aquator) to estimate yield and deployable output, and to support wider environmental assessmentAnalysis of hydrological data and hydro ecological literature/guidance to assess the environmental and ecological effects of water resource pressuresContribute to water resources planning processesAssessing the impacts of climate change on water resource availabilityRequirementsExperience of working for a private sector consultancy is a requirement, as is experience of undertaking business development, client engagement, proposal and tender writing and winning and delivering won workYou will be a hydrologist with a water resource focus qualified to at least FETAC Level 7, preferably Level 9 or 10, and will have relevant work experience and likely to be chartered or have achieved Fellow status through CIWEM or another relevant professional bodyThe ideal candidate will have familiarity of working with and in, and the nature of, catchments and hydrology in IrelandAbout UsAt AtkinsRéalis we put Environment, Sustainability and Health & Safety at the heart of our business strategy.
