Overview
Location: Ballycoolin D15
Hours: Fully flexible Monday to Sunday, minimum 36 hours per week
Pay: €20.26 per hour plus €20.00 night allowance and Sunday premium
Responsibilities
Perform a range of security and safety duties within a critical data centre environment, including access control, CCTV monitoring, alarm response, and control room operations in line with site policies and procedures.
Secure the facility by conducting proactive patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, inspecting infrastructure, and controlling access to sensitive and restricted areas.
Assume immediate responsibility for incident and emergency response, including fire alarms, security breaches, and safety risks, ensuring swift escalation and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Maintain the safe and uninterrupted flow of personnel, contractors and vehicles across the site while enforcing strict security protocols.
Produce accurate incident reports, logs and operational records, ensuring all events are documented and communicated in line with compliance requirements.
Identify, assess and report all security threats, vulnerabilities and health & safety risks during patrols or control room monitoring.
Ensure full compliance with all security policies, SOPs, Operational Orders and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations.
Manage and operate access control systems, including badge issuance, access permissions, visitor management and key control processes.
Support contractor management activities, including escorting vendors and ensuring adherence to site safety requirements.
Monitor and enforce compliance of all personnel, contractors and visitors with site security and safety standards.
Support the coordination of site activities to ensure operational continuity and resilience within a 24/7 mission‑critical environment.
Assist with lost and found, administrative duties and other operational support tasks as required.
Deliver a high standard of customer service, building strong working relationships with clients, site teams and stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure appropriate staffing levels, incident readiness and continuous improvement of security and safety processes.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a data centre, critical infrastructure or high‑security environment is highly desirable.
Valid PSA security licence; FAR, manual handling or fire warden training desirable.
Strong understanding of integrated security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection and alarm monitoring.
Good working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards within a regulated environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and customer‑focused approach.
Strong problem‑solving ability with a calm, methodical approach to incident management in high‑pressure situations.
Ability to follow strict procedures while maintaining attention to detail and situational awareness.
Highly organised with strong multitasking, prioritisation and reporting skills.
Proficient in MS Office and security reporting systems.
Strong observational skills and experience using communication systems such as two‑way radios.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team within a 24/7 shift‑based environment.
Fully flexible to work days, nights and weekends.
