IT Operations Engineer – LimerickBenefits: Bonus + Pension + Healthcare + Income protection + hybrid workingWe're looking for an IT Operations Engineer who thrives in a fast-moving, cloud-centric environment, someone who takes ownership, solves problems before they become issues, and ensures our people are always supported with secure, reliable technology.In this role, you will be at the heart of day-to-day IT operations while helping shape the future of our IT landscape driving automation, improving security, and ensuring world-class service delivery.What You'll Be DoingDeliver high-quality IT support — resolving incidents, diagnosing performance issues, and ensuring uptime across systems and networksConfigure, deploy, and support endpoints such as laptops, desktops, printers, and mobile devicesMaintain and enhance identity, access, and cloud environments including Azure AD/Entra ID and Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)Support networking across VLANs, WAN, fibre and Wi-Fi environments, including structured cabling troubleshootingStrengthen cybersecurity — patch management, endpoint protection, access control enforcement, and championing security awareness initiativesManage software licensing, asset tracking, and procurement with a cost-efficient approachMaintain backup schedules, disaster recovery processes, and system documentationWork closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure IT services align with business needsContribute to automation, continuous improvement, and long-term infrastructure stabilityExperience4+ years' experience in IT Operations, System Administration, or similarStrong knowledge of Windows environments — with exposure to MacOS/Linux a plusSolid understanding of hardware, networking fundamentals, firewalls, and system hardeningA proactive and analytical approach — you don't just fix problems, you prevent themExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teamsNice to HaveExperience with scripting & automation (PowerShell, Power BI, etc.)Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC 2)Knowledge of conditional access, zero trust principles, and modern endpoint managementExperience working with behavioural analytics and advanced security tooling
