Process Manager
Introduction
Are you a Process Manager looking for a fresh start?
We are looking for a Process Manager to join our client's dynamic team.
Responsibilities
To optimise the overall Plant performance by ensuring budgeted production yields, occupation times, and line speeds are achieved or improved.
Review the efficient use of raw materials, labour, material flow, changeovers, and clean down, etc.
Participate in daily/weekly/quarterly Production, Planning, Health & Safety meetings and implement any relevant actions resulting from these meetings.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, production, and quality teams on technical solutions to production line problems.
Lead cross-functional problem-solving groups (operators, supervisors, maintenance, management) where relevant.
Liaise with suppliers or contractors for small process modifications and propose capital projects for large-scale modifications.
This may involve writing design specifications/concept drawings, participating in start-up and commissioning, and following progress and implementation of these projects.
Maintain and formalise production documentation: technical specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the existing process and introduce them for new process changes.
Manage and coordinate planned training to ensure a good understanding and operation of the production process and equipment for current and new employees.
Create and maintain Health & Safety / Process risk assessments for the entire plant and coordinate/manage all actions from these assessments.
Promote the company's standards based on Lean Manufacturing Principles through the use of 5S, SMED and other World Class Manufacturing tools (PDCA, SPC, FMECA, DOE, FTA), as well as good housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
Define, manage and validate cost saving projects as part of the yearly Action 30 Plan.
Develop and participate in Continuous Improvement Projects that improve the efficiency of the production process and other plant operations, including Health & Safety.
Develop and maintain production information and performance measurement (KPI) boards.
Liaise with and support the R&D Products Development Engineer based in France, who will visit on-site approximately one week each month.
This involves carrying out essential R&D tasks on site, communicating relevant information to the local team, and supplying all necessary results, documentation, and samples to all relevant personnel.
Requirements
Competence in Lean Manufacturing Principles; Knowledge of Quality Systems (FMECA, SPC, Metrology, 6M, 5W, etc.).
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical automation design and systems and components.
Strong cross-functional project management skills.
Strong mechatronic aptitude and experience with continuous automated production lines.
Good interpersonal and group-working skills.
Strong technical problem-solving ability and drive.
Leadership and motivational skills to drive people involvement.
Organised, structured, rigorous and able to work under pressure.
Strong interest in hands-on, on-the-floor involvement with machines and people.
Good initiative and inventiveness.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes.
Degree qualification in process or mechanical engineering with 5+ years' experience in continuous process manufacturing.
Degree qualifications in Science & Engineering are also considered.
Qualified to carry out Risk Assessments.
Certificate of 6 Sigma Black Belt (BB) or Lean Master is an advantage.
Competent in MS Office, PowerPoint Presentations.
The position is onsite and includes free parking.
