Role
We are looking for a full‑time experienced Facilities Technician to join our team in Donegal. The position requires a 36‑hour per week Night Shift, Monday to Sunday.
Responsibilities
Carry out a range of technical duties to cover mechanical, electrical and general building fabric maintenance.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment under our control as per the Plant CMMS / CAFM system.
Proactively identify and remedy equipment maintenance issues to maximise equipment uptime.
Servicing of electrical, mechanical and non‑technical equipment.
Liaise with the service desk/supervisor and respond to all non‑technical and technical queries promptly to ensure conformance with the relevant Service Level Agreement.
Carry out fault finding and repairs to broken‑down equipment, coordinating service engineers when external assistance is required.
Maintain appropriate records in line with requirements and assist in the installation of new plant and equipment.
Keep all business unit leads informed and updated at all times regarding equipment issues.
Liaise with department engineers and other support personnel to identify and solve problems.
Assist with the drive for ‘Cost Reduction Initiatives’ across the site, including Energy Saving Opportunities (ESOs).
Be a self‑performing Electrician and continuously strive for self‑improvement.
Complete any training deemed necessary by the line manager within the agreed timeframe.
Willing to take on and familiarise with all relevant site systems as required.
Maintain an internal ‘Best Practice’ regime and encourage continuous improvements.
Assist with all queries regarding quotations and purchasing when requested.
Maintain and maximise use of the client CMMS / CAFM system, ensuring all works are completed and closed within the agreed timeframe.
Sourcing and stocking of spare parts to maintain minimum stock levels in accordance with client requirements.
Qualifications
Electrical Senior Trade or Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience in Utilities / Facilities.
Formal training/certification in any of the above is advantageous.
Basic computer knowledge essential.
Proven track record in preventive and reactive maintenance in a similar environment.
Induction level (IND 2) proficiency or ability to achieve it.
