The role Technical Product Development Assistant (Permanent Role) The Technical Product Development Assistantwill play a key role in assisting the design, development and quality control of low voltage switchgear product.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, a proven track record in developing low voltage switchgear with manufacturing partners, and the ability to support technical/quality areas of the business.
This role involves working closely with our Sales, Purchasing, Marketing and Accounting teams in Kilmarnock, Dublin and China along with liaising with our global suppliers.
About you Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in electrical design for low voltage switchgear.
Strong proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
Project management skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and responding to tasks with an efficient, can-do attitude.
An excellent communicator both written and verbal, and a true team player but feels comfortable working independently when needed.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Day to Day Responsibilities: Design and development of low voltage switchgear product, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Develop detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications for low-voltage switchgear projects.
Utilise software and other design tools to create accurate and efficient electrical designs.
Provide technical support to the internal teams, offering guidance and expertise in the field of low voltage switchgear.
Support the selection integration, and function of the power and control system components.
Work closely with the electrical and mechanical teams to ensure the equipment works as per specification.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, to ensure successful project execution.
Take ownership of new project timelines, ensuring that design milestones are met in accordance with project schedules.
Conduct thorough design reviews and provide input on design optimisation.
Troubleshoot and resolve any electrical design issues that may arise during testing.
Create comprehensive design documentation, including technical specifications, test plans, and reports.
Ensure that all design documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
