Role Description/CriteriaApplications are sought for the position of Graduate Teacher and Pre-Service Teacher Coordinator - POL 1 for the period 27 January 2026 to 26 January 2027. This is a tenured Position of Leadership to align with our current POL structure. It has a teaching load and is in conjunction with an ongoing teaching appointment.Padua College provides a contemporary Catholic Secondary co-education for young people within the regions of the Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Bay. The Graduate Teacher and Pre-Service Teacher Coordinator is responsible for the provision of support to graduate and pre-service teachers. He/She will develop and implement a consistent and thorough approach to induction, which will support graduate and pre-service teachers to develop relationships with students and colleagues whilst building knowledge and expertise, strengthen their impact on students and assist their transition into our Catholic learning community.Padua College is committed to lifting quality teaching therefore assists graduate and pre-service teachers to develop capabilities, confidence, and connection to learning communities. The Graduate Teacher and Pre-Service Teacher Coordinator ensures the provision of support, and challenges to drive pre-service and graduate practice improvement, supports understanding expectations of teachers in a secondary school setting, formal policies, practice, and procedural compliance, and supports in building teacher resilience, emotional wellbeing, and relationships with other professionals.The Graduate Teacher and Pre-Service Teacher Coordinator reports to the Vice Principal - Staff, Strategy and Development and works with other members of the College Improvement Team regarding matters relating to their respective portfolios.MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYThe main responsibilities of the Graduate Teacher and Pre-Service Teacher Coordinator include but are not limited to:i. developing and implementing a comprehensive induction process for graduate teachers;ii. supporting graduate teachers through the registration process to meet VIT full registration as a Proficient Teacher (Aitsl);iii. coordinating the induction and placement of pre-service teachers at the College; andiv. performing other day-to-day duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal and/or members of the College Improvement Team.Teachers are supported by the Learning Leaders, the Assistant Heads of Campus (Learning and Pedagogy), Deputy Principals/Directors of Campus (Heads of Campus), and the Vice Principal (Learning and Teaching) across the College in the development, implementation, and teaching of the curriculum. They are also supported by the House Coordinators, Assistant Heads of Campus (Student Wellbeing and Growth), the Deputy Principals/Directors of Campus (Heads of Campus) and the Vice Principal – Students, in the pastoral care and discipline of students, as well as the smooth and effective management of classes.SALARY REMUNERATION: According to the CEMEA 2022, $79,589.00 - $118,063.00 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
