Title: National Campaigns Manager
Reports to: Head of Fundraising
Direct Reports: National Campaigns Officer, National Campaigns Coordinator, National Campaigns Administrator
Contract type: Specific Purpose Contract MAT leave cover
Hours: Full-time 35 Hours per week - Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm. Time flexibility and travel required. Some evening & weekend work required.
Location: The Society operates a hybrid working model with a combination of remote and in-person (Dublin 4 office) working
Office Days: Wednesday & Thursday

Responsibilities

* Develop and deliver all elements of the Society’s fundraising campaigns including research, development, planning, budgeting, marketing and review.
* Identify, create, market and deliver new and dynamic fundraising streams and campaigns.
* Supervise the campaigns fundraising team to implement the overall fundraising plan and ensure that the team has the skills, knowledge and tools to achieve plan growth and income.
* Ensure full team processes are documented and shared with relevant parties to ensure compliance and continuity.
* Working with the Head of Fundraising and other fundraising managers, develop a fundraising strategy for the Society’s campaigns and events.
* Deliver the Society’s fundraising campaigns programme, financial goals and objectives in support of the overall fundraising strategy.
* Manage the fundraising campaigns’ financial targets and budgets; monitor and analyse performance and adjust plans as necessary. Report regularly to the Head of Fundraising.
* Identify and evaluate potential new campaigns and develop new initiatives for existing campaigns. Create plans to phase out less successful fundraising initiatives.
* Monitor market changes and opportunities and competitive activity.
* Ensure that all campaigns comply with legislation pertaining to charities and are properly managed and controlled.
* Understand risk assessment basics and work with Finance and ICS insurance carrier to ensure adequate coverage.
* Cash handling, banking, acknowledging and receipting income in accordance with ICS policies and procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding supporter information and ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.
* Keep up-to-date with current issues and developments in the fundraising arena; establish memberships and liaise with professional bodies and agencies to ensure industry best practice; undertake training as necessary.
* Provide occasional support for other teams in the department as required and assist with special projects to enhance fundraising capacity and programmatic objectives.
* Develop and manage key relationships within ICS by working with fundraising teams and other departments (Finance, Communications, Programme and database teams) to share plans in advance of all campaigns.
* Coordinate marketing activities to promote the Society’s fundraising campaigns and oversee copy-writing for campaign materials.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the ICS Dynamics database for post-campaign analysis.
* Oversee the identification, sourcing, development and purchase of premium items, campaign goods, and supporter materials.


Qualifications

* Educated to degree level
* 3–5 years proven experience in fundraising, marketing and people management
* Understanding of the Republic of Ireland not-for-profit and voluntary sector


Person Specification

* Strong empathy with and compassion for ICS volunteers and supporters; passionate about putting them first.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and demands.
* Excellent administrative, financial and analytical skills, including planning and budgeting.
* Ability to plan, develop, and deliver strategies; focused on meeting financial income targets and deadlines.
* Self-directed, able to work independently; self-starter with initiative and drive.
* Ability to think creatively and identify opportunities; establish marketing plans with clear objectives and measurable targets.
* Coordinate and direct marketing activities to promote campaigns; oversee copy-writing for materials.
* Evaluate supporter research, market conditions and competitor data.


Role & Management

* Coordinate all elements of the Society’s fundraising campaigns across relevant teams from concept to delivery, and support other events as required.
* Supervise the Campaigns team and related teams to ensure campaigns proceed to plans, timescales and budgets.
* Contract and manage external agencies and suppliers to meet objectives and cost efficiency.
* Oversee creative approvals, copy and design reviews to ensure timely delivery.
* Maintain records in the ICS Dynamics database for analysis post-campaign.
* Oversee sourcing and procurement of campaign goods and supporter materials.


Management

* Recruit, develop and supervise the campaigns team, including temporary staff. Ensure regular supervision meetings, set and review objectives, and follow performance management processes.
* Ensure team processes are documented and followed, including expenditure, holidays, meetings, travel and other ICS procedures.


Developing and Managing Key Relationships Within ICS

* Maintain open information flow with all fundraising teams and other departments to share plans in advance of campaigns.
* With support from related teams, create a work plan in advance of each campaign with clear actions and timelines.
* Collaborate with Corporate Fundraising Manager to identify potential partners.
* Work with Communications to develop effective campaign communications plans.
* Demonstrate initiative, drive, and creative thinking; communicate effectively both written and verbally; maintain diplomacy and tact in relationships.
* Be a team player with an open and flexible attitude.
* Computer literate with experience in CRM software; proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Flexible to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
