Role Overview
Master Chefs is looking for an experienced and passionate Head of Production Chef to lead our dynamic kitchen team. This is a pivotal leadership role, overseeing the daily operations of a high-volume production kitchen and ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional culinary standards. As Head of Production Chef, you will manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food quality, safety, compliance, and team leadership.
A key focus of the role is bringing a Farm-to-Fork philosophy to life by sourcing ingredients from our own Ellen Farm and integrating local, seasonal, and sustainable produce into menu development and execution.

Key Responsibilities
* To follow cost controls procedures to ensure maximum profitability.
* To promote good team relations ensuring fairness and consistency in all dealings with your team members.
* To direct all kitchen staff ensuring that all food is prepared and ready for dispatch.
* To order all food stock and to complete an end of month closing stock & communicate this to Finance Department.
* To adhere to H.A.C.C.P. procedures & legislation, implement changes when deemed necessary.
* To report and take action on incidents of accidents or damage as per company procedure.
* To attend all training courses as notified to you by senior management.
* Taste all food items periodically to ensure quality and consistency. Preventing any food items from leaving the kitchen, which are substandard.
* Control and supervise staff; hygiene, noise level, insubordination, punctuality, dress code etc.
* Organise and pre-plan all food items required for special functions.
* To be knowledgeable of seasonal products and apply this knowledge to make cost effective and creative dishes.
* To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and presentation.
* To adhere to company procedures in regards to temperature checks, food labelling and dating, cleaning schedules and hygiene regulations at all times ensuring that all records of such are maintained.
* To be fully aware of all health and safety at work regulations.
* To be fully aware of the proper use of chemicals used in the work place.
* To have full knowledge of and be able to act upon fire procedures.
* To be familiar with and adhere to all procedures outlined in the company handbook and sign same.
* To carry out any additional duties as may be notified to you by the Executive Chef.
