Prism Executive have partnered with a pharmacy group who provides managed services and IT solutions to the Irish pharmacy retail network. We are looking to appoint a Product Owner with deep pharmacy expertise to lead the roadmap and delivery of a cloud-based pharmaceutical dispensing product.
This role is critical to ensuring that the dispensing system continues to meet the operational, regulatory, and customer experience needs of pharmacies across Ireland.
The Product Owner will act as the voice of pharmacists and patients within the development teams. They will own the product backlog, ensuring features and defects are prioritised effectively to deliver value to customers and meet regulatory obligations.
They will collaborate closely with business analysts, customer service, development, QA, and DevOps teams, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and solutions are delivered with quality.
The role also involves monitoring and communicating upcoming changes in Irish pharmacy regulation and practice (HSE, IPU, PSI), ensuring that our product remains compliant and competitive.
The Product Owner will lead user acceptance testing and hold authority on whether delivered features meet customer expectations. They will also take ownership of release notes and product communications.

Essential requirements of the role
* Significant leadership experience in pharmacy operations (community, retail, or hospital).
* Deep knowledge of dispensing procedures, pharmacy workflows, and patient safety considerations.
* Familiarity with medical record and dispensing software systems.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
* Experience in defining, prioritising, and communicating requirements clearly to development teams.
* Understanding of Irish pharmacy regulations (HSE, IPU, PSI, GDPR, safety standards).
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to balance competing priorities (customer demand, compliance deadlines, and technical capacity).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or equivalent in software product development.
* Exposure to agile and lean delivery practices (Scrum/Kanban).
* Familiarity with backlog management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar).
* Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, and healthcare IT integration (EMR, HSE systems, wholesalers).
* Experience in change management and customer communication.
