Job Summary:
Job Summary:
The External Street Lighting Design Dept in ESL is responsible for the planning, design, and specification of public and private street lighting schemes to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant illumination of highways, residential developments, and public spaces. The role involves producing technical lighting designs in accordance with relevant standards, client requirements, and local authority regulations, while balancing energy efficiency, sustainability, and visual impact.
The designer works closely with clients, local authorities, contractors, and internal project teams to deliver lighting solutions from concept through to construction.
Responsibilities:
· To liaise with Senior lighting designer / Project & Commerical Teams.
· Create Street Lighting Designs.
· Design and plan lighting and electrical systems.
· Working with AutoCAD & Lighting Design software daily.
· Additional Administrative roles as part of Design role.
· To work independently and as part of ESL design team.
· To attend daily / weekly design performance meetings in office or (on team's) with Senior lighting designer / Project Manager to ensure planned programme schedule
· Designs to be in accordance with the client project specifications and relevant lighting design standards.
· To follow & complete all relevant quality design documentation as instructed to maintain company ethos on Public lighting designs.
· Be an Ambassador for the Company values ensuring the values are key in every day decision making.
· Compile reports as required and present to the Lead Lighting Designer/management as required.
· Visit project sites as required.
· Review budget and ensure lighting designs are according to budget and customer specifications.
Person Specification:
Required Qualifications:
· Electrical/Civil/Mechanical/Engineering Qualifications/experience would be desired
but not necessary.
· Diploma in Lighting design is desirable but not essential.
Previous Experience:
* Experience in lighting design.
* Proven track record working in a team environment, work independently and taking instructions
* Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills if required
· Medium/High competency in Autocad
Required Skills & Competencies:
