Expert MIG welders are required for a variety of tasks, including inspecting welds and ensuring safety throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform high-quality MIG welding on a range of materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures to ensure accuracy and precision.
* Prepare materials and equipment for welding tasks, maintaining a clean and organized workspace at all times.
* Set up and operate welding machines and related tools, adhering to health and safety protocols.
* Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance using measuring tools and visual inspection techniques.
* Perform grinding, cutting, or cleaning tasks as needed to maintain high-quality welds.
* Follow established health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, performing routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications:
* At least 2+ years of experience as a MIG welder, with a strong understanding of welding principles and practices.
* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
* Knowledge of metals and their properties related to welding, including heat transfer and thermal expansion.
* Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a welding environment, including hazardous materials handling and emergency response procedures.
* Welding certification is highly desirable but not essential for this role.
