Within the organisation, a specialist division focused on pharmaceutical, life sciences, and cleanroom environments is entering an exciting phase of accelerated growth. With a strong pipeline of secured work, ambitious plans, and a high-performing team already in place, we are now seeking a Commercial Lead or Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the continued success of this business unit. This role offers a unique opportunity to take full commercial responsibility for the successful delivery of specialist projects. You will be involved from pre-construction through to final account, leading on all aspects of cost management, contract administration, and commercial strategy. Working closely with the project delivery and senior leadership teams, you will ensure each project is delivered profitably, efficiently, and in line with both client expectations and company objectives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing budgets, forecasts, and cost plans, overseeing subcontract procurement and payment processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant contracts and regulations. You will work alongside estimators during tender phases to provide commercial insight and help shape winning strategies. A key part of the role will also be contributing to the ongoing development of commercial processes and providing strategic input into divisional growth plans. The successful candidate will be degree-qualified in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related discipline, with at least seven years of experience in a commercial role within a main contractor environment. Previous exposure to cleanroom, life sciences, or high-specification technical projects is highly desirable, though not essential for the right candidate. Strong contractual knowledge, excellent stakeholder communication, and a sharp commercial mind are all essential.
