Automation Project Manager
Our client, a global Pharmaceutical company, is seeking an Automation Project Manager to join their team at their site located in West Dublin.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity and offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Reporting to the Automation Manager, this role requires an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in pharmaceutical automation to lead and deliver multiple automation and digital integration projects across the site.
Responsibilities
Manage automation and digital integration projects across the site, ensuring delivery to scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements.
Lead the planning and execution of the following key projects:
Setup and commissioning of an offline DCS control system for training and validation.
Improvement of Yokogawa DCS control system software applications and OT network infrastructure hardware and configuration.
Upgrade Legacy control system, including the replacement of obsolete systems.
Lead project risk analysis and management activities, ensuring identification, mitigation and communication of technical, schedule, cost and compliance risks.
Coordinate detailed design, FAT/SAT, commissioning and qualification and other activities related to automation and control systems.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and specialist automation, IT/OT and control system vendors; manage vendor performance, scope, deliverables and change control.
Chair and document key project meetings (e.g. project kick-off, design reviews, FAT/SAT readiness, progress reviews), ensuring clear action tracking and closure.
Support the development and execution of system testing and validation documentation (e.g. test plans, IQ/OQ/PQ where required).
Guarantee that automation and digital projects fully comply with data integrity, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, GMP and the company's standards.
Requirements
A degree in Engineering or related technical field – such as Electrical, Automation, Chemical, Mechanical, Control Systems, Computer/Software Engineering or an equivalent is required.
3+ years' experience working as a Project Engineer / Project Manager in a regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical environment.
Good understanding of automation, control systems, DCS/PCS/SCADA platforms (e.g. Yokogawa or similar).
Excellent project management skills demonstrated across the full project lifecycle: feasibility, front-end design, stakeholder engagement and URS development, bid analysis and vendor selection, Capital approval, detailed design, procurement, implementation and handover.
Excellent communication, problem-solving and vendor management skills.
