Strikebox Engineering is an innovative design and manufacturing company serving the bioprocessing industry both in Ireland and globally. We specialize in providing cutting-edge solutions for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences sectors. As we expand our reach within the EU and set our sights on entering the US market, we’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to lead our commercial strategy, drive sales growth, and oversee the company’s global market expansion.

The candidate will become a key member of the senior management team, responsible for leading the commercial strategy and driving long-term growth for Strikebox Engineering. This includes overseeing all aspects of sales, marketing, and business development to increase our presence within the European Union and facilitate our entry into the US market. They will work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with the company's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities:

* Strategic Leadership:
o Develop and execute the company’s commercial strategy to drive long-term growth and profitability, particularly focusing on expanding our EU export markets and entering the US market.
o Lead the development of a clear, actionable sales and marketing strategy aligned with company objectives.
o Work closely with senior management to define the company's expansion roadmap and ensure alignment with operational and financial goals.
* Sales Growth and Market Expansion:
o Identify and develop new business opportunities in the EU and US bioprocessing markets, leveraging existing networks and new business development strategies.
o Oversee the sales function, ensuring the team meets and exceeds growth targets in both existing and new markets.
o Build relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and partners in both new and existing markets.
o Identify trends and opportunities for product innovation or service improvements that support market growth.
* Team Leadership and Development:
o Lead and mentor the sales and marketing teams, creating a high-performance culture that is results-driven and customer-focused.
o Foster collaboration across departments, ensuring strong alignment between sales, marketing, production, and engineering teams.
* Market Intelligence and Competitor Analysis:
o Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to stay informed about market dynamics, industry trends, and competitor activities.
o Leverage insights to refine sales strategies, develop new value propositions, and enhance market positioning.
* Brand Building and Marketing:
o Oversee and guide the development of Strikebox Engineering’s brand and marketing strategies to ensure visibility and awareness in both the EU and US markets.
o Collaborate with marketing to create compelling, market-specific messaging and campaigns that resonate with customers in both regions.
* Financial and Performance Accountability:
o Manage the commercial budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to drive sales and achieve business objectives.
o Analyze sales performance metrics and KPIs to measure the success of strategies and identify areas for improvement.
o Work with finance to forecast revenues, manage risks, and track financial performance against targets.

Required Skills and Experience:

* Education: Life science degree or a related field.
* Experience:
o 10 years’ experience in commercial leadership roles, with a strong background in sales, business development, or marketing within the bioprocessing, or life sciences sector.
o Engineering background also considered.
o Proven track record in successfully leading market expansion efforts, particularly in international markets such as the EU and US.
o Established sales history with proven track record in Bioprocessing or a related field.
o Experience in designing and implementing sales and marketing strategies that drive growth and profitability.
* Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the bioprocessing and pharmaceutical industries, with specific knowledge of market dynamics in the EU and US.
o Existing knowledge of upstream and downstream groups within key biopharmaceutical leaders would be desirable.
* Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
* Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate with senior executives, customers, and partners.
o Fluent in English
* Experience of using a CRM system.
* Willingness to travel throughout the assigned geography to meet customers.
* Strong network of contacts within the bioprocessing and pharmaceutical industries, particularly in the EU and US markets.
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to the bioprocessing industry.
