OverviewElusav Recruitmenty have a great opportunity for Design, Technical, Electrical & Commissioning Engineer with a leading Engineering company within the Wastewater and Water treatment space. The Design, Technical, Electrical & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the design, technical support, installation oversight, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across Water and Wastewater treatment projects. The role bridges design engineering and site execution, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, efficient, and fully operational from concept through handover. The projects largely are focused on projects and sites within the Limerick/Munster region.ResponsibilitiesDevelop electrical designs, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and specificationsPerform load calculations, cable sizing, protection coordination, and equipment selectionEnsure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g. IEC, BS, IEEE, NEC, local codes)Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentationSupport value engineering and design optimizationProvide technical guidance to project teams, site engineers, and contractorsTroubleshoot design and installation issues during construction and commissioningCoordinate with mechanical, civil, automation, and instrumentation disciplinesParticipate in design reviews, HAZOPs, FATs, and technical meetingsOversee electrical installation works to ensure compliance with approved designs and specificationsConduct site inspections, progress checks, and quality auditsVerify correct installation of panels, cabling, earthing, lighting, power systems, and control systemsPrepare commissioning plans, procedures, and method statementsLead or support testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including:Power distribution systemsSwitchgear and protection systemsMotors, drives, and MCCsUPS, generators, and backup systemsEarthing and lightning protection systemsWitness and review test results, identify defects, and ensure corrective actionsSupport system energization and performance verificationRequirementsPreferably a qualified Electrician with field work experience or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field2-5 years of experience in electrical design and commissioningStrong knowledge of electrical systems, standards, and best practicesExperience working on industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with commissioning procedures and site activitiesContactIf you would like to learn more about the vacancy, apply now, or contact Brendan Mullins on orSkills: electrician, Commissioning, design
