Experience the excitement of leading a busy pub to new heights as our General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations, bar floor events and staff management.
* Ensure high standards of service, hospitality and guest satisfaction.
* Manage opening, closing and shift handovers.
* Monitor & maintain cleanliness, health & safety, licensing and compliance with local regulations.
Financial Management: Assist in preparing and managing annual budget and forecasts.
Monitor revenue, costs and margins (especially for drinks and staffing).
Control wastage, theft, stock variances.
Oversee procurement, stock ordering, inventory and supplier relationships.
Ensure accurate cash handling.
Staff & Team Management: Recruit, train, develop and motivate pub staff.
Create rosters that balance service needs and labour cost efficiency.
Conduct performance reviews, coaching and disciplinary actions when necessary.
Lead by example.
Marketing Promotion & Guest Engagement: Plan and execute promotions, events (quiz nights, live music specials).
Monitor guest feedback, reviews and social media presence.
Reporting & Communication: Prepare regular reports on sales, costs, KPIs and staffing.
Communicate with owners and participate in strategic planning to grow the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a senior management role in hospitality or a related field.
* Strong financial acumen - budgeting, cost control, P&L management.
* Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and make decisions on the fly.
* Knowledge of licensing laws, health & safety and hygiene standards.
* Familiarity with POS / bar systems.
* Flexible availability - evenings, weekends, holidays.
