We are seeking a Project Manager / Technical Bid Lead to provide expert civil engineering support to our estimating and proposals teams in Galway.
Responsibilities:
Lead technical input into design and build tenders, coordinating with consultants to manage deliverables.
Produce high-quality written bid responses that demonstrate a clear understanding of client requirements.
Review and analyse tender documents to identify risks, opportunities, and competitive advantages.
Support optioneering and value engineering with estimators, delivery teams, and supply chain partners.
Coordinate civil and MEICA interfaces, considering design and pricing impacts.
Guide MEICA designers on commercial and civil engineering implications of their proposals.
Prepare and optimize draft construction programmes in line with client requirements.
Advise estimators on resource planning, staffing levels, productivity outputs, and timelines.
Contribute to traffic management plans and prepare supporting narratives for submissions.
Drive continuous improvement in tendering processes.
Keep up-to-date with industry innovations, HSQE requirements, and maintain CPD for technical excellence.
Requirement:
Degree in Civil Engineering or related construction discipline (or equivalent experience).
Strong site-based experience with a solid understanding of civil construction processes.
Minimum 5 years in a senior site management role on complex civil projects.
Excellent technical writing and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex engineering clearly.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Full, clean Irish/UK/EU driving licence.
Must be authorised to work in Ireland (valid Work Permit or Stamp 4 visa).
