Access to Care Advisor - UPMC Cleaboy Location: Cleaboy Business Office -Unit 4 Job type: Permanent Overview of role: The Access to Care Advisor will be part of an integrated team across our UPMC healthcare services that will simplify Access to Care for our patients.
The Access to Care Advisor will work in our Diagnostic Scheduling Team.
The Diagnostic Scheduler supports the Access to Care team in UPMC Whitfield and works alongside with the Radiology team to provide the scheduling function for Radiology modalities, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Dexa, X-Ray and PET CT to assure a safe, punctual and excellent patient experience throughout the hospital.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: To be responsible for the Diagnostic Scheduling for Radiology in UPMC.
Monitor Healthlink platform as part of assigned.
Ensure all inbound post is handled accurately.
Accurate registration of patients in line with IPSG 1 on hospital system IPIMs Insurance verification essential, using multiple verification systems.
Prompt upload of referrals to Soliton/AGFA (RIS) within 24 hours of receipt.
Accurate priority as per referrer notes in Soliton/AGFA (RIS).
Once vetted by clinical colleagues, ensure appointment booked in line with SOPs for modalities, ensuring appropriate appointment slot given to patient including letter to patient and text from Certify.
Cross Schedule into the hospital system (IPIMs) to allow for accurate financial capture.
Monitor the "On hold" queue in Soliton/AGFA as part of daily/weekly/monthly duties and schedule patients accordingly.
Manage all inbound calls to Diagnostic Scheduling phone line.
To request and gather information from other hospitals as required by Radiographers, such as scans, bloods results, device implant information.
Handle all inbound calls professionally.
Ensure compliance with NTPF and or other public work as applicable including prompt update to relevant team once study completed.
Responsible for the printing and collation of all Radiology reports and ensuring the reports are sent to the correct GP, Consultant, Hospital or internal stakeholder (Aut Even only).
Making outbound calls to patients booked for future MRI or Ultrasound scans, confirming that they will be attending and talking the patient through the relevant screening questions.

To liaise with and maintain an excellent working relationship with other members of the hospital multi-disciplinary team ensuring a high level of patient service is maintained.
Work as part of a team by supporting each other, sharing workload and covering each other during periods of absence.
To perform such other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned from time to time by the manager or nominee.
To carry out any training duties as necessary for relief staff / work experience staff for holiday cover.
