Main Responsibilities
We believe that the best way to deter criminal activity is to understand the vulnerabilities and risks of each location, and tailor our approach to effectively reduce risk. As a Retail Security Officer, you will provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities.
You will carry out all guarding responsibilities while in store, such as:
* Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity
* Assessing and identifying vulnerabilities, proactively minimising risks
* Liaising with management and local authorities when applicable
* Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
* Conducting colleague and contractor searches as required, in line with company policy
* Reporting incidents digitally and using tablets/phones for daily activity planning
* Providing detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities

Hours: 40 hours
Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Saturday, 12:15 - 20:15
Hourly Rate: £12.35
The Person
To be an effective Security Officer, you should be a confident communicator, able to provide detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You should be welcoming, patient with customers, and capable of handling conflicts professionally.
Required Experience and Qualifications
You must hold a valid SIA licence to apply. Previous experience in retail security is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
