Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual Technician to join our Derry/Donegal North West team. As an Audio-Visual Technician, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio-visual equipment for a variety of events and functions. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of audio-visual systems and equipment, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. You will be able to work from home when there are no events taking place, however your work will at times involve travel to various counties.Responsibilities:Set up, install, and test audio-visual equipment such as sound systems, projectors, screens, microphones, and video equipment according to specifications provided.Ensure all audio-visual equipment is in proper working order prior to each event or function.Operate audio-visual equipment during events, including controlling sound levels, lighting, and video presentations.Provide technical support and assistance to presenters, performers, and event organizers during rehearsals and live events.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to audio-visual equipment, including sound distortion, video connectivity, and equipment malfunctions.Coordinate with event organizers and other staff to determine audio-visual requirements and ensure they are met.Collaborate with other technicians and professionals involved in the event to ensure seamless execution of audio-visual elements.Maintain an inventory of audio-visual equipment, ensuring proper storage and organization.Perform routine maintenance and repairs on audio-visual equipment as needed.Stay updated with the latest audio-visual technologies, trends, and best practices in the industry.Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all clients and event attendees.Qualifications:Proven experience as an Audio-Visual Technician or in a similar role.Strong technical knowledge of audio-visual equipment, including sound systems, projectors, microphones, video equipment, and lighting systems.Proficient in setting up and operating audio-visual equipment for various events, such as conferences, meetings, presentations, and performances.Solid understanding of audio-visual connectivity, cabling, and signal flow.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently under time constraints.Familiarity with different audio-visual software, control systems, and multimedia tools is a plus.Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, event organisers, and other team members.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.A degree or certification in audio-visual technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.Joining our team as an Audio-Visual Technician offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of various events and create memorable experiences through the effective use of audio-visual technology.
