As an experienced electrician, you will be responsible for the electrical installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems across multiple sites. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. The ideal candidate will be confident in signing off on completed works and liaising with project managers, consultants, and clients. Key Responsibilities Carry out AC electrical installation works for solar PV systems, including grid connections, inverter setups, and cable management Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and site plans Ensure all installations comply with current electrical regulations and standards (ET101, I.S. 10101, etc.) Perform testing, inspection, and commissioning of completed systems Sign off on electrical works and issue relevant certification (e.g., RECI / Safe Electric) Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and site conditions Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed on-site Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during and post-installation Support junior electricians and apprentices as needed Travel to project sites nationwide as required Qualifications & Experience Fully qualified electrician with a valid Safe Electric registration Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in solar PV installations Proven experience in AC electrical works related to solar PV systems (commercial/industrial scale preferred) Familiarity with inverter technologies, grid connections, and energy metering systems Ability to sign off on electrical works and issue compliance certificates Full clean driving licence Manual handling and relevant safety training (e.g., Safe Pass, MEWP) Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Skills Experience with DC cabling and rooftop installations Familiarity with battery storage systems and EV chargers IT skills for reporting and documentation (Excel, email, mobile apps) Travel & Flexibility This role requires regular travel to project sites across Ireland Overnight stays may be required depending on project location Company vehicle and accommodation provided where applicable What we offer Competitive salary aligned with experience; Free birthday day Bike to Work Scheme Discounts from local businesses.
