* Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to foster a strong safety culture
* Act as the primary liaison with the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), ensuring all regulatory requirements are met and incidents are reported effectively
* Lead regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments-identifying risks and ensuring proactive, corrective action is taken
* Design and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and internal campaigns that create lasting behavioural change
* Oversee all relevant documentation-from SOPs and RAMS to training logs and legal compliance records
* Investigate incidents and near-misses, conducting thorough root cause analysis, and implementing clear, timely resolutions
* Manage emergency response plans and fire safety procedures to ensure the site is fully prepared for critical events
* Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term safety strategies and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
* A qualification in Health and Safety, engineering, or a technical discipline-or equivalent hands-on experience in an industrial setting
* At least 5 years' experience in a senior Health and Safety position within energy, utilities, manufacturing, or similar sectors
* Deep understanding of Irish H&S laws and standards
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the confidence to engage both internal teams and regulatory bodies
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to produce accurate reports and compliance documentation
This is more than a compliance role-it's an opportunity to drive real change, influence senior decision-making, and set the benchmark for safety excellence in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
