About the role
Aberdeen Investments Ireland Limited (Aberdeen Ireland) is a MiFID investment firm in Dublin with six branches across Europe. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Compliance and will provide compliance advisory services to Aberdeen Ireland and its branches. When possible, the Compliance Manager will also be involved in Group projects or support other EMEA offices.
The role's purpose is to support the development, implementation, and execution of the Compliance Framework for Aberdeen Ireland and its European branches. The Compliance Manager will also provide technical compliance advice to support all aspects of Aberdeen Ireland and its branches, working closely with the Aberdeen Ireland and EMEA Compliance team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality compliance advice by liaising with senior management and staff, supporting Aberdeen Ireland’s business activities within the firm’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
* Support the Aberdeen Ireland Head of Compliance and other compliance functions as needed.
* Monitor regulatory developments in responsible jurisdictions and keep branches informed of potential impacts, continuously improving compliance controls and processes.
* Deliver compliance training to Aberdeen Ireland staff.
* Promote high standards of conduct and ethical practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and acting in clients’ best interests.
* Prepare reports for the Head of Compliance for committee and board meetings, ensuring management is informed of relevant compliance issues.
* Review and approve presentation materials used by Business Development for clients/distributors, collaborating with Marketing and Group Distribution Compliance.
* Maintain regular communication with line management and senior leadership in Aberdeen.
* Support other areas of Aberdeen Risk & Compliance as directed.
* Assist in managing financial crime, data protection, and other regulatory risks, supporting relevant frameworks.
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in Compliance, Risk, Legal, or similar roles.
* Experience in Asset Management, Fund Industry, or broader Financial Services, preferably in Ireland.
* Understanding of Central Bank of Ireland standards, MiFID II, AIFMD, UCITS, and Anti-Financial Crime legislation is a plus; training provided on these topics.
* Knowledge of EU regulatory regime is advantageous.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office.
* Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information.
* Flexible and able to work independently and within a team.
