They will have at least 5 years professional experience in the area of civil engineering, including some experience in project and contract management.This role will play a key part in delivering renewable energy generation for ESB, and thus support its strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity generation in Ireland.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote and lead the safety management culture across all activities by taking ownership and demonstrating visible commitment to safety.Implementing department Quality Procedures on all projects.Providing civil engineering technical expertise and advice for solar generation projects from concept through to detailed design and construction.Co-ordinating all relevant engineering and associated disciplines’ activities within the wider department, required to successfully deliver projects to approved scope, budget and programme.Project manage civil works packages for solar generation projects and administer contracts for specific works packagesScoping, specifying, procuring, technical assessment, contract management and design review of solar generation projects work packagesBuilding and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Undertaking site quality inspectionsEssentialExperience and QualificationsLevel 8 Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualificationA minimum of 5 years relevant experience is required.Strong civil engineering design office experience and having successfully delivered various civil engineering projectsProject management experience for small to medium sized civil engineering projectsA strong ability to identify project work requirements and to initiate work with limited oversight.Full drivers’ licenceDesirableStructural engineering experienceExperience undertaking to role of PSDP and/or PSCS on construction projectsWorking knowledge of FIDIC conditions of contractLocationThis position will be based in EMP Dublin or Cork office.
