Overview
We are seeking an experienced PLC/SCADA Automation Engineer to support a series of critical automation upgrade and commissioning projects within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of systems, ensuring reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement across complex automation infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and maintain compliance with site standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
* Lead or support the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new and upgraded vendor package equipment.
* Oversee vendor activities for obsolescence projects and system enhancements.
* Draft, review, and approve automation change packs and technical documentation.
* Develop and maintain SOPs related to automation systems and associated processes.
* Participate in FAT/SAT activities, validation planning, and execution of test protocols.
* Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimisation of process and utility systems.
* Prepare work permits, safety documentation, and risk assessments as required for ongoing projects.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline.
* Strong expertise in Rockwell ControlLogix, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View.
* Experience with Siemens S7, WinCC, and TIA Portal highly desirable.
* Familiarity with DCS systems (DeltaV, Honeywell) is an advantage.
* Good understanding of process and utility systems, including centrifuges, washers, and autoclaves.
* In-depth knowledge of GMP, GAMP 5, Annex 11, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance standards.
* Minimum 7 years’ experience working in a GMP regulated environment, ideally pharmaceutical or biopharma.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a project team.
* Capable of taking ownership of projects under the direction of the Automation Manager.
