The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist within the CAMHS AHP team. We are seeking an enthusiastic clinician with a wide range of clinical experience and preferable experience in working with speech, language and communication difficulties in the context of mental health and/or neuro developmental difference. You would join our CAMHS SLTs who are embedded within the AHP team and provide input to all CAMHS locality and fucntional teams across NHS Lanarkshire.

What we'll need you to bring
Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or equivalent
Registered Speech and Language Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
Post Graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality/area of practice.
Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
Full driving licence holder.

It would be great if you also have
Member of RCSLT
Post-graduate training in CYP with Mental Health and SLCN.
Experience of working with children and young people with developmental communication and swallowing disorders.
Experience of clinical decision making based on the Care Aims philosophy.
Experience working within an integrated CAMHS service.
Specialist knowledge underpinned by current evidence base acquired through in depth experience and theoretical study of a broad range of conditions.
Develops own knowledge base to as evidenced by attendance at CENs, journal clubs, review of current literature.
Knowledge of and adherence to local clinical guidelines.
Knowledge of the CAPA model.
Communicates effectively with a wide range of professionals, carers and clients.
Manages own time and prioritises tasks.
Experience of working collaboratively with clients, carers, families and multi-disciplinary/multiagency team members to manage clients effectively.

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in CAMHS department within Udston Hospital.
The working pattern for this role is Monday - Friday.
