Responsibilities
To be responsible for the management, care and treatment of service users to the Venesection Service, to ensure that the optimum standard of care is provided. The Day Services Unit at the Louth County Hospital includes provision of venesections for patients with haemochromatosis and iron overload. It is a nurse delivered service with consultant clinical governance for the patient. The CNM1 proactively incorporates a process for referrals, planning, delivery and evaluation of care of patients requiring this medical treatment. A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part‑time duration may be filled.
