Summary:
An EHS Specialist is required for a biopharmaceutical company based in West Dublin.
The successful candidate will focus on strengthening EHS management programmes and providing additional support to meet the needs of site expansion.
Responsibilities:
Participate in site safety and environmental activity and ensure that the Site operations comply with legislation and best practice.
Provide technical safety and environmental expertise, support, coaching and mentoring to all departments and personnel on site.
To implement standardised and comprehensive EHS programmes across the site that meet best practice with a focus on continuous improvement.
Actively foster an ethos and culture of safety awareness, where safety is accepted and expected as an integral part of the overall business.
Work with all personnel, contractors and visitors to ensure that all safety policies, procedures and regulations are fully adhered to across the site on an ongoing basis.
Notify the appropriate responsible persons in a timely and comprehensive manner of any breach of EHS policy, procedure or regulation or any potential hazard which could have a serious impact on safety or result in serious personal injury.
Notify the appropriate responsible persons in a timely and comprehensive manner of any EHS issue which could possibly relate to Takeda's general compliance status, legal or insurance issues, employment law, public relations or other matters of this nature.
Investigate, support and, where appropriate, manage any incidents that occur on-site and ensure that Accident Reports / Unplanned Events reporting forms are completed in a timely manner after an event.
Carry out regular safety compliance inspections to ensure health and safety procedures and policies are being implemented.
Ensure that safety audit action items are addressed and closed out in a timely manner.
Coordinate the approach and activities for the safe handling of all raw materials, key intermediates and active materials on site.
Develop and provide safety training as required.
Provide support to other safety initiatives as required.
Provide leadership & coaching to all employees on the compliance requirements associated with regulatory requirements and site EHS programmes.
Other duties as required by the Head of EHS or Site Leadership Team.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Environmental Science/EHS or equivalent.
Working EHS experience within a pharmaceutical or GMP regulated facility.
Experienced in the implementation and execution of successful EHS programmes that drive continuous improvement within manufacturing operations and align with current & future EPA & HSA compliance requirements.
Strong technically and has a "hands on" and collaborative approach to supporting EHS requirements across the site.
